Cork Yoga Mat - Cork Feel 4mm
Technical characteristics
Mat for experienced practitioners of dynamic yoga styles
This cork mat is designed for those who already have a good awareness of their body during yoga practice and are looking for a good grip and easy gliding between asanas.
We recommend the Cork Feel cork yoga mat for those who practice intense and very dynamic styles such as Vinyasa yoga, Ashtanga yoga, or Power yoga, or for practice in hot environments as in the case of Hot yoga and Bikram yoga... or in general for anyone who has abundant sweating on their hands and feet during practice.
This mat may be slippery if your hands and feet are dry and you do not sweat abundantly.
Cork is non-toxic and hypoallergenic, with anti-bacterial properties that help reduce the accumulation of microorganisms responsible for bad odors.
Advice on the correct use
Cork Feel is a mat made of completely natural materials. To preserve it in the best possible way, we recommend you use some small precautions:
-
before practising, wash your hands and feet well to remove residues of oils and creams that may stain the mat
-
do not expose the mat to direct sunlight or heat sources, as they degrade the natural rubber and cork
-
when rolling up the mat, always leave the cork side out to prevent cracks from forming over time
Care and Maintenance
To give the mat a longer life, we recommend paying attention to two aspects in particular: heat sources and cleaning.
As far as heat sources are concerned, we would like to remind you that cork and rubber are natural materials and should not be exposed to medium/high temperatures for long periods (we do not recommend leaving the mat in the car and do not put it near radiators, stoves, etc.).
Cleaning the mat means taking care of it. Our suggestion is to clean it at least once a week to prevent skin impurities from settling on the surface.
The cork side does not absorb water, while the rubber side does. We, therefore, recommend using a wet, wrung-out microfibre cloth (do not use a dry cloth, as it may be too abrasive) and spraying it with a mild neutral detergent, or our ReClean detergent for Yoga mats. For deeper cleaning you can wash it in cold water with a mild detergent or with our ReClean cleaning agents, gently rubbing the dirtiest parts with a non-abrasive sponge.
Dry the mat flat, absolutely not in a dryer, away from heat sources and not in direct sunlight.
After practice and after cleaning, wait until it is completely dry before rolling it up. If possible, store your mat in a breathable fabric bag to protect it from dust and light.
