Pack description

Ashtanga is known to be one of the most challenging Yoga styles. Having the ideal yoga mat for Ashtanga is crucial in order to practice without material malfunctioning (who can concentrate while trying to stay stable on a slippery yoga mat?). That is why we created the Ashtanga Yoga Kit. A combination of all the products you need to be able to practice Ashtanga in the most successful way.

Ashtanga is intense and Yogis tend to sweat a lot while practicing. You need a Yoga mat that absorbs sweat and keeps you stable on your feet, hands, head or whatever other body parts. Our element Grow Yoga mat from 100% natural rubber is exactly the mat you need. Its thickness of 4mm is comfortable yet not too soft to make sure you are stable in Yoga poses which require balance.

To give your Ashtanga Yoga practice a traditional and professional touch our Kit also contains the original Indian yoga rug ReRug. It is handmade from natural cotton in India  and thought to be put on top of your Grow Yoga mat once the practice gets extremely intense and you sweat a lot. While normal towels are soft and flexible and compromise all the good qualities of whatever mat you use underneath, the rug is super stable and absorbs sweat.

We also add a free pack of incense sticks to the Kit to put you in the right mood for your Yoga practice.

Pack content

Grow is the ecological yoga mat made of natural rubber that embodies the right combination of practicality, stability and comfort!

It combines the extraordinary grip on both sides with 4 mm of latex foam, which gives it the ideal thickness to make even the most demanding practice and high perspiration conditions comfortable, without affecting its stability.

Technical characteristics

Ideal for Ashtanga and Power Yoga

The natural rubber (latex) that makes up this non-slip yoga mat provides optimal grip even under conditions of high perspiration. It ensures maximum stability for the duration of your practice regardless of its intensity.

The entire Element line is 100% natural rubber certified OEKO - TEX® Standard 100 class 1. Free of heavy metals, chemicals, and PVC.

Unlike other natural rubber yoga mats, which tend to give off a very strong smell of artificial substances, our Element yoga mats have a whiff of inflatable balloons. This is proof that no chemicals were used during the production process.

Not suitable for people allergic to latex.

Advice on the correct use

To preserve the qualities of natural rubber, the mat has not undergone any chemical treatment. You can practise on a fantastic yoga mat that makes no compromises!

Given its naturalness, we suggest you use some small but important precautions to keep it intact over time:

  • before practising, wash your hands and feet well to remove residues of oils and creams that may stain the mat

  • remove rings, bracelets and chains before practising, then wash your hands thoroughly. Latex is sensitive to metals and you may cause indelible stains

  • for the same reason, after washing your hands, do not touch coins, keys, statuettes or Tibetan bells

  • avoid the use of sanitising gels, as some of these contain substances that stain the mat. If you use them, wash your hands well with soap and water before practising in order to remove any residue.

  • do not expose the mat to direct sunlight or heat sources, as they degrade the natural rubber and make it slippery

  • given its thickness, we recommend not using it on uneven surfaces, as you will feel the differences in the terrain and may increase the risk of it being damaged

Care and Maintenance

When you are not using the mat, store it rolled up in a dry place, out of sunlight and away from heat sources (such as radiators or the boot of a car exposed to the sun).

If you can, place it inside a natural, breathable fabric bag to protect it from dust as well.

In addition:

  • Moisturise it from time to time with a wet, wrung-out cloth to remove any lightening of the natural oxidation process that may form

  • Clean it after practising using a microfibre cloth soaked in water and wrung out, and if you wish, add a small amount of ReClean yoga mat cleaner and leave it to dry.

  • Never use a dry cloth for cleaning, as it may be too abrasive

  • For deep cleaning, wash in cold water with a little mild detergent and rinse thoroughly

  • Dry the mat lying down and out of direct sunlight by placing a towel between any surface and the mat

  • To prolong the life of the mat, prefer hand-washing to machine-washing: if you must, choose cold washing with very little mild detergent, plenty of rinsing, no spinning and absolutely no tumble-drying During cleaning, lighter areas may appear, which will disappear when the mat is completely dry.

ReRug is the cotton mat traditionally used in the shale of Mysore by Ashtanga yoga practitioners.

Entirely hand-woven by skilled Indian craftsmen, the cotton ReRug offers all the sensations of an ancient practice rooted in its origins.

This traditional rug is suitable for those who have good body awareness during practice and for those who, in general, tend to have very sweaty hands and feet.

Technical characteristics

Yoga mat handcrafted in India

RERUG is a yoga mat made by Indian craftsmen according to the traditional method. Made of coloured cotton, it effectively absorbs sweat and allows good grip combined with easy gliding during transitions. Thanks to its thickness of about 2 mm, it is also very stable during “the jump-through”.

Advice on the correct use

The RERUG was created as a practice mat on rough surfaces or directly on beaten earth. This is why it tends to slip if placed directly on the classic floor. You can solve this by laying it on top of a rubber mat such as Element Grow or Ride.

Care and Maintenance

You can wash RERUG by hand in cold water or in the washing machine at less than 30°. Use a mild detergent and wash it alone (it may bleed slightly).

Never put it in the dryer.
